This recipe was given to me by my Mother-In-Law
1# of ground beef. Preferably low fat and grass fed if you can.
1 Cup of already cooked long-grain rice. The kind you can get here. It is dry and mixes well.
1 pack of Dry Soup Mix: Onion flavor. I have used lipton, Campbells and store brand.
1 head of raw green cabbage -Since cabbage inhibits thyroid hormone. Grape Leaves will be better as you age.
1 regular can of sauerkraut or equivalent refrigerated plastic bag in produce
1 large can of whole tomatoes
mix raw ground beef with soup pack and 1 cup of long-grain rice. Simmer cabbage head stem down in a large pot of water. and remove one leaf at a time when pliable. In top of leaf, add 1/2 palm size of mixed ground beef. and roll once, fold in sides, and finish with the rib on the outside. Pack in the bottom of a medium size pot. Cover one layer with about 3 tomatoes crushed in your hand, and 1/3-1/4 can of the sauerkraut. Repeat and use up tomatoes and sauerkraut. You may have 2 or 3 layers. Simmer on low for about 1 1/2 hours.
