Cleaning out your colon takes time, and swapping foods takes a little super sleuthing. Aging is a challenge. I am now at the point where I need that “extra” amount of protein just to prevent “pain” Finding out which proteins which will not create belly fat is key. 5 meals a day may become the norm, expanding your eating and you can introduce foods that are lower reactive, such as soft cheese, turkey, spinach and wine. Will help you maintain your best weight. Your body will quickly let you know in many ways whether these new foods work for you. Weight response to a new food is a guage, but so are sleep, mood, stress levels and digestion to name just a few.
The cleanse is gradual, to be as easy as possible, and there is the possibility that the release of toxins can cause some discomfort. It is better to deal with it now (really!) than later on when disease starts to crop up in a more serious form.
If you do start to feel a detox reaction such as a headache or nausea, we will work together to figure out why and often make symptoms abate. If aspirin is part of your protocol, then please feel free to take one if you feel a headache coming on. Suffering will not help on many levels; there is no need to “tough it out.” Think of these days as the most important investment – your path back to vibrant health and a healthy weight.
The most important thing, as we age, is nutrition. Our bodies may not absorb nutrients as well as they used to, and sometimes we need to eat nutrient dense foods. I will supply you with a few suggestions.. Learning how to ramp up the nutrients in the simple foods we are used to eating, is the key to great health as we age. During this process, there may be some surprises. Don’t be afraid. You are not the only one who has had to give up an old standby or an old favorite.
If you have digestive issues, we will first address these issues, naturally. Should we need more ammunition, then it will be so. Keeping belly fat off may take accountability. It is up to you, because simply reading the book doesn’t help anyone stick to a plan. The key word is plan. We are building a new plan for your middle age health.
