Eating this way for the past 10 years, has helped me find the foods that “make my tummy happy” without chocolate, and sweet rolls. Kale is my best green, I tried Collard Greens, and Beet Greens, and Kale. Of course I eat raw and cooked spinach. That is a staple. I still cook beet greens once and awhile, and Romaine salads are a staple too.
I am blood Type A so Peanuts have been my staple for a snack, and since I need a lot of fiber, I fill up my hunger with fiber from oats, and 10 grams of protein. Clif Bars This keeps me satisfied for another 2 hours or so. They are sweet for some people, those of us who have a genetic predisposition to lower taste of sugars need more sugars to make us happy. Blood Type A’s can have some sugar. (Good Thing for me)
Finding out what works is the key to this and learning how to put it together for your best digestion is very important.
I love the Polyflora, (Prebiotics and Normal Flora SPECIFIC for EACH Blood Type) I finally feel like my colon is happy, not spastic, and functioning at optimum level. I had thought, for so long, that my colon was big like a bag, that had to be filled up…Not so, especially between monthly hormone surges. I can eat less, and eat what is highly satisfying from my A type list, that it is easier not having to fill it up to send the waste through.
I am doing well at keeping the stress level down, worrying about what to eat next, to feel good, and to eliminate well, and to not have any pain. Stress causes belly fat. Breathing is key. It is easier when the hormones are down.
Keep at it, you will find your “best” foods. The ones that make you happy the most. (The ones that help you feel full so you DON”T over eat and the ones that support good digestion!) Eat a well rounded diet. Fruits are my favorite in the morning, (mine is pineapple with Bromelain an enzyme that helps with protein digestion). During menopause, I needed snacks at night, so I would add yogurt sometimes, or the 1 cup of walnuts, 1 cup of raw almonds, and 1 pack of dried cherries without sulfites and 1 pack of dried blueberries without sulfites, and added cranberries if you want.fruit and nut mix. fruit and nut mix. Walnuts have omega 3’s and if you choose Flaxseed instead, it has omega 3’s also. Try to eat a fish often, Sardines are great for fish omega 3’s for everyone. Find your balance between protein and veggies, try eating less protein, balance it with vegetables, and see how long you last between meals. Try and tune and fine tune again! Fine tune your eating. Take a genetic test. It was the one thing that helped me the most.
Your body will start to “feel” when you are packing too much food in…cut back a little, and see how you feel.
